What is Eosinophils %?
Eosinophil percentage tells you what proportion of your white blood cells are eosinophils relative to other immune cells, such as neutrophils, lymphocytes, and monocytes.
Looking at absolute eosinophil count and eosinophils percentage together helps provide a clearer picture of immune activity:
- If both eosinophil percentage and absolute count are elevated, the body may be producing more eosinophils in response to allergies, parasites, or inflammation.
- If the percentage of eosinophils is elevated but the absolute count is normal, it may indicate that other white blood cell types have decreased rather than eosinophils increasing.
