Alexander Watson, M.D. (“Alex” to both friends and patients) is a physician with board certifications in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Obesity Medicine, after completing a residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in June 2023. While in training, he published multiple book chapters and articles on prehabilitation, back pain, obesity medicine, and the continuum of care during cancer rehabilitation. He also served as co-editor of a soon-to-be-released textbook on prehabilitation (“A Prehabilitation Guide for All Providers”) as well as an author of a patient guide to prehabilitation (“Healing in Advance: Your Prehabilitation Handbook”). He translates this expertise in pre-surgical health optimization into a broader practice of health counseling and coaching for living well each day. Alex has a passion for health, fitness, and writing and resides in Delaware with his wife and 4-year-old son/wannabe Tyrannosaurus Rex.
