Dr. Robert Howe, M.D., is an obstetrician and gynecologist and a Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist with experience treating osteoporosis, menopause, hypothyroidism, hormonal deficiencies in men and women, and other endocrine problems.

Dr. Howe began his career as a Reproductive Endocrinologist at Baystate Medical Center from 1989 to 1992, where he played a pioneering role in the region by establishing its first in vitro fertilization (IVF) program. He then moved on to Hartford Hospital in Connecticut, serving as a Reproductive Endocrinologist and Director of the IVF Program from 1992 to 1993. In 1994, he became the Medical Director of the Reproductive Medicine Center of Western Massachusetts in East Longmeadow, a position he held for over two decades until 2017.

From 2018 to 2020, Dr. Howe served as the Director of Reproductive Medicine at CDMG, where he performed IVF in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital and developed an osteoporosis treatment program at Cooley. In 2021, he transitioned to roles in endocrinology and hospital leadership, joining Pioneer Spine and Sports as an Endocrinologist and assuming the position of Chief Medical Officer at Western Massachusetts Hospital, where he continues to serve.

Dr. Howe has received numerous honors and awards throughout his career, including six scholarships and medical research awards between 1974 and 1993. He has presented extensively in scientific and educational settings, delivering fifteen medical presentations and seventy-one educational lectures across the United States, Ireland, Canada, France, and Jamaica between 1985 and 2020. His contributions to the field are reflected in twenty-one scientific and medical publications spanning from 1978 to 2018.

His research excellence has been recognized with six non-medical research awards between 2002 and 2014. Additionally, in 2017, Dr. Howe was granted U.S. Patent 9,818,383 for a groundbreaking method utilizing micro-CT scanning and 3D printing to create replicas of complex objects, further demonstrating his commitment to innovation and interdisciplinary exploration.

Dr. Howe is a member of the Endocrine Society, National Osteoporosis Foundation, and American Society for Reproductive Medicine. He is certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology subspecialty.
