These Joggers Are The Perfect Blend of Comfort and Style
Last October my husband and I celebrated our 14th anniversary. With the Delta variant making the rounds, we decided to skip our usual drinks and dinner outing and instead splurge on some fancy joggers that I’d been eyeing online, Vuori’s performance jogger ($84). After all, we were both primarily working from home, and our weekends involved trips to the dog park or grocery store—hardly a need to put on anything with a zipper. That was our first pair of his and hers joggers from Vuori—but not the last.
I’ve historically worn leggings almost 24/7; a byproduct of editing a yoga magazine for a few years. But these ridiculously soft joggers caused me to relegate my beloved yoga pants to the bottom of the drawer, and I haven’t looked back. I own four pairs now and my husband has two (only because the two days a week he heads into the office he usually wears the brand’s Ripstop pants instead).
Here’s my review of the Vuori’s performance jogger—and why I think you should consider adding them to your athleisure collection, too.
Vuori Performance Joggers at a Glance
- Super soft fabric
- Holds up well in the wash
- You can wear them with almost anything
- They are made with sustainable fabric
The Fabric Is Buttery Soft
I’d read Instagrammers’ rave reviews about the material, but nothing truly prepared me for how soft these joggers—and everything from Vuori, for that matter—are. Comfortable joggers are a dime a dozen these days, but Vouri’s joggers are made from a custom fabric the brand calls DreamKnit. Think of your coziest pajamas or the college T-shirt you’ve washed and worn so many times that it’s softer than a baby blanket. Vuori’s threads are that soft but aren’t thin at all. The fabric is lightweight, but not opaque.
The Wearability Is Off the Charts
Vouri’s performance joggers are comfy enough that you can wear them for lounging or sleeping, but they can also stand up to a solid sweat session.
DreamKnit is a blend of recycled polyester and elastane, a synthetic fiber, making the joggers breathable and moisture-wicking. That means at the end of the workday I can head to the basement for a workout without changing (less laundry is always a good thing).
The Durability Is Top-notch
Speaking of laundry, I have other joggers in my wardrobe collection and few have held up as well as these joggers. Even expensive pants from brands like Athleta have gotten small tears after multiple washes or have pilled over time. Vuori’s joggers have held up well through weekly washing without pilling, fading, or wearing. The color—my go-to’s are the black and brick heather-hued bottoms—are just as deep and rich as the day I bought them.
The joggers’ drawstring at the waist hasn’t frayed either or disappeared into the waistband in the wash. The ribbing at the ankle hasn’t stretched out either, unlike other pants in my athleisure collection.
50 percent of their products are made with high-quality sustainable materials
They’re Stylish Enough to Wear Anywhere
The joggers have a cropped leg (I’m 5’6” and the 25″ inseam fits just above my ankle. Vuori also offers the joggers in a longer inseam for taller folks) and a slim fit, making them ideal for pairing with almost any top and shoes. Most days I wear them with a sweater or sweatshirt, but recently I paired a black pair of the Vuori performance jogger with a white T-shirt, knit blazer, and heels. I got three compliments on my outfit that day. The men’s joggers are just as stylish. My better half has worn his for drinks with friends a few times.
The Company Cares About Sustainability
Fast fashion has been great for our wallets, but terrible for the environment and our health. I want to look good, but not at the expense of our planet.
According to the brand’s website, Vuori aims to use 80 percent sustainable materials this year. Currently, 50 percent of their products are made with high-quality sustainable materials which include REPREVE polyester made from recycled plastic bottles, ECONYL nylon made from recycled nylon fishing nets and other nylon waste, and Certified organic cotton, grown in clean, healthy soil. The company also partners with Climate Neutral to offset 100 percent of their carbon emissions, and fund projects like restoring degraded rainforests and supporting clean energy.
