Where Is the Liver King Now?

The raw organ-devouring influencer is 60 days off steroids, and at least some of his experience is typical of guys who quit gear.

The offal-loving, “ancestral tenet”-spouting Liver King, aka Brian Johnson, fell quickly and hard when emails leaked in November showing that the influencer was indeed performance-enhancing drugs to the tune of about $11,000 a month. He posted a video to his YouTube channel titled “I Lied,” admitting to his fan base of “primals” that he was “embarrassed and ashamed” for lying about his use of anabolic steroids

Well, time—and getting roasted in the media—appears to be encouraging Liver King to adopt a new, possibly less dangerous health and fitness regimen.

Liver King says he’s committed to embracing the natty lifestyle, and “feels better, looks better, and functions better” after being off steroids for nearly two months, according to a recent Instagram post

Liver King—who has dubbed his ‘roid-free persona “Liver King 2.0” told his ‘primals’ that he’s feeling better than ever. “I’m finishing my eighth week and doing fucking amazing,” he said in the video. “Liver King 2.0 will crush Liver King 1.0,” he promised.

Honestly, we can’t see much of a difference, but, sure.

This isn’t the first time the viking-horned influencer shared an update on his new natty life.

A week into his detox, the ridiculously shredded TikTok star shared a weigh-in with fans on Instagram showing off the impacts of fasting while weaning himself off steroids. His scale showed him clocking in at 190 pounds, and he revealed that he had been fasting for 24 hours.

During that update he also mentioned that he was doing a water fast and chowing down on bowls and piles of salt, which he claims is helping him bulk while he’s not eating.

On day 4 of his fast—day 9 of going off gear—he says he woke up with “blurry vision, low energy, low drive, low mood. Can’t wait to get out of this hellhole.” We don’t know whether those impacts are from skipping steroids or eschewing food, but they’re in line with what generally happens to the human body when you ditch steroids for good and go full natty.

Effects of Ditching Anabolic Steroid Use

Getting off anabolic steroids, which are used to build muscle mass and decrease fat, can be serious business, according to American Addiction Centers.

Hefty users may experience withdrawal symptoms including serious depression if they suddenly quit, which is why a better bet is to taper off gradually, under the supervision of a doctor, to give your body time to adjust (no word if Liver King went cold turkey or worked with a doctor).

It will take time for your natural hormonal balance to return. If you’ve been on anabolic steroids for a while, it can take up to four months for the body to restore its normal testosterone levels, as these steroids mimic the effects of testosterone. You may notice symptoms such as fatigue, weight loss due to lowered appetite, decreased strength, and/or depression.

If you’ve come off steroids and want to know if your testosterone levels are where they should be for your age, Hone offers a test you can comfortably use at home. If they’re low, you can meet with a doctor to discuss treatment options including TRT.
