I Feel 10 Years Younger After Treating My Low T

I’m actually looking forward to turning 50.

Dave Dembinski before and after

I was laser-focused on my health and fitness in my twenties and thirties. I worked out nearly every day, alternating between vigorous weightlifting and cardio workouts. Being the most physically fit guy in the room made me feel proud. But when I hit 40, my energy and motivation fizzled out.

I began sleeping poorly, too, and I regularly woke up drained. I skipped my morning workouts, setting my alarm for just 15 minutes before needing to log into my demanding remote job as VP of a real estate firm. I kept this up for four years, ultimately putting on weight.

One day I caught a glimpse of myself in the mirror and didn’t recognize the man staring back at me. In just a few years, I had gone from a lean build—my body fat percentage in the teens—to around 29 percent body fat. My once-defined abdominal muscles had atrophied and a beer belly had formed on top. I felt a pang of disappointment in my chest.

But this was all typical for someone at the age of 44, right? After all, many of my peers felt similarly: We all missed our younger physiques and abundant energy levels. Still, this reality of middle age didn’t sit right with me. I knew the energetic, fit man I had been for so many years was still a part of me, but I needed help reconnecting with him. I decided to look for solutions.

Testosterone injections had been on my radar for years, but I thought they were just for fast muscle gain. When I finally researched how to get TRT online to help with my muscle loss, I was relieved to find that I wouldn’t have to take back-alley anabolic steroids to get back in shape. Instead, I could get treatment online from a legit doctor who would check and monitor my hormone levels and help with all of my symptoms.

As I continued researching, I discovered that low energy and motivation are also common symptoms of low T. I decided to order an at-home hormone assessment from Hone. A few weeks later, my test results showed that my total testosterone levels were low for a guy my age

My Hone doctor prescribed twice-weekly testosterone injections to bring up my levels.

Starting TRT was like taking off a blindfold. Within 30 days, I was waking up refreshed, with energy for daily workouts. I started shedding the weight I had gained over the past four years. Finally, I began feeling like myself again.

Over the next couple of months, as my symptoms continued to subside, it clicked for me: If I can delay this normal, but debilitating, part of aging, I can also optimize other parts of my life to age better. For instance, I quit drinking and I started setting my alarm to 6 AM daily to work out before opening my laptop.

After six months on TRT, I’m down to 22 percent body fat. I’m 45 years old, and I feel younger than I did 10 years ago. If this is what aging can feel like, bring it on—I’m looking forward to turning 50.
