Daniel Landau, M.D. is an oncologist, hematologist and contributing writer for The Mesothelioma Center at Asbestos.com. He currently works in Charleston as the medical director of virtual hematology at the Medical University of South Carolina. 


As a renowned, board-certified hematologist and oncologist, Landau has held key leadership positions and contributed to the development of the telehealth service at Orlando Health Cancer Institute (previously MD Anderson Cancer Center). He began his current role as medical director at the Medical University of South Carolina in September 2023.


Beginning in 2018, Landau worked as the section chief of oncology and hematology at Orlando Health UF Health Cancer Center. In this role, he launched Orlando health’s telemedicine service, which continues to provide cancer patients with virtual care today.


In 2005, Landau graduated from the College of Medicine at the University of South Florida in Tampa. He later completed his internal medicine residency with the university in 2008 and a fellowship at the former MD Anderson Cancer Center (now Orlando Health Cancer Institute).


While Landau specializes in oncology and hematology, his interests in medicine span across various genitourinary and prostate cancers. For more than 10 years, Landau has dedicated his career to medical education, inspiring and training the next generation of oncologists.
