There’s nothing better than tucking into crisp, cool sheets after a p.m. workout. But if you struggle with allergies, sleeping might be more of a struggle (even if you’re optimizing your bedtime routine)—unless you snooze on hypoallergenic sheets.

“Hypoallergenic sheets are designed to decrease one’s exposure to environmental allergens, and are less likely than non-hypoallergenic sheets to cause allergic reactions,” says Dr. Hadley King, MD, a board-certified dermatologist in New York City.

What Causes Indoor Allergens?

“Dust mites are the most common cause of allergies from house dust, and dust mites can live in bedding, feeding on dead skin cells,” says Dr. King. “Hypoallergenic sheets help to keep mold and dust at bay. They feature fabric with a tight weave (such as silk, bamboo, cotton, and Tencel), which reduces dust mite access.”

If you’re looking for a new set of sheets to help lessen your allergy symptoms and help you sleep better, here are six of the best to consider.

The 6 Best Hypoallergenic Sheets

1. Best Tencel Sheets: DREAMCARE Tencel Sheets

Tencel, a type of rayon fabric, is one of the most common types of hypoallergenic materials. And these ones from DREAMCARE are super affordable and available on Amazon. They come in five different sizes and nine different colors and prints. Bonus: They also have side pockets, where you can store remotes, phones, and more. One Amazon reviewer also noted that they’re easy to remove pet hair from.
